Menurut Capaldi, lagu tersebut menceritakan perpisahan yang dia alami setahun sebelumnya dan “pasca-kehidupan” mantannya yang hanya bisa dia saksikan melalui media sosial. Lagu itu digambarkan sebagai “lagu yang terinspirasi dari 80-an synth” serta “perubahan kecepatan” dalam suara penyanyi.
